POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a driven professional with an accounting background to support us through our next growth phase. In this challenging role, you'll take ownership of key processes and be one of the initial team members as we bring financial operations in-house. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of month-end close procedures, including preparing reconciliations, recording journal entries in ERP, and financial reporting.
  • Shorten close timeline, implement operational accounting efficiencies through process improvement, training, automation and spreadsheet re-design.  Lead the team in successfully executing against close plan.
  • Define and implement processes to support scaling of the business.
  • Manage AP and AR functions, including related staff, invoice approvals, and resolving vendor/customer inquiries.
  • Be a business partner to leadership and functional teams and understand business initiatives
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze general ledger activity and reconciliations for discrepancies that should be brought to leadership’s attention.
  • Mentor team members, by cross-training, supporting, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Lead financial statement audit; assist drafting financial statements, managing PBCs, preparing technical accounting memos and facilitating questions of auditors
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, sales tax reporting and payments, and work with tax advisors.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and assist in special projects as needed by management team.
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience, of which minimum of 3 years at a public accounting firm
  • Advanced Excel skills required (critical to success in the position)
  • Strong team leadership skills, professional and positive attitude, and thrives in a team environment
  • Experience with Netsuite, Bill.com, and Expensify a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to simultaneously research discrepancies and solve problems
  • Demonstrates clear and effective written and verbal communication and the ability to prioritize tasks
